Transcription: Chapter 27. Cain woke Herzer well before dawn with the bad news that he was in charge of making breakfast. Herzer tried not to grumble and wandered out into the pre-dawn darkness. He was presented with the materials and then Cain went back to bed. Herzer had learned to use flint and steel to start a fire while woodcutting and it only took him 10 or 20 tries to get the fire going.
